I wanted crab cakes. So on Saturday Zen-Den and I went to a restaurant on the KY side of the Ohio River where I had some delicious crab cakes. It was a sunny day, so after lunch we decided to walk across the Purple People Bridge on Pagan’s Path to OH. After spending some time in the park along the river on the Ohio side, we walked back across the bridge to KY where we had parked our car. Here is what we saw along the way.

Pretty! The Purple People Bridge area looks fun. Have you been to the aquarium? I am, of course, now thinking about Purple People Eaters – see any of them around?

Zazzy, we’ve been to the aquarium, but never seen any Purple People Eaters. We have seen lots of families with kids and dogs, though.

kate, I’ve never been to a Five Guys’ Burgers. They’re all over the place, so I have no excuse for not trying one. One of these days I’ll get there.

They have the BEST french fries! Their burgers aren’t bad either. It’s definitely a cholesterol booster!

Lovely bright, sunny photos. I’m very amused by the exisitence of a Purple People Bridge!
I’m also curious about the 4-direction arrow sign with content in only 2 directions. The mischief in me wants to put absurd things on those blank arrows.

alejna, I know what you mean about those blank arrows. They are tempting, but much too high up to get to easily. Pity that– just think how good your doodles would look up there!

I’m really taken with the idea of a Purple People Bridge, too, and also with the idea that you can cross that bridge and be in a different state. I don’t know why that appeals to me so much, but it does. Thanks for posting the pictures. I love looking at photos of places that I’m never really likely ever to see for myself.

Polly, the Purple People Bridge is fun. It’s the only bridge over the river where you just walk [or bike or run or push a stroller or push a wheelchair] along without cars and buses being a concern. Glad that you liked the photos.

What a bright, beautiful day for you! The pictures are very creative. You need to make an album of all of your photos. It’s fun walking around places where you live and discovering all of the interesting aspects of the area.:)

Beth, it was bright and snowless which is unusual for January around here. There weren’t too many people around so picture taking was easier than normal. Plus all those funky angles of the bridge + the hills of Cincy where fascinating to shoot.

I’ve never been to Cincinnati (actually couldn’t spell it without spell check) but after this post I feel as if I had. Crab cakes would get my feet over the bridge too.

Jamie, yes a good crab cake is difficult to find– and the restaurant that we went to has the best ones around imho. The walk with the camera was an afterthought to be sure.

A walk that ends (or has in the middle, really) a good crab cake or two is a GOOD walk. To enjoy so many sights, a river, and blue blue skies? Splendiferous.

J, yes, the pursuit of crab cakes will put a bit of get along into anyone’s walk. Fortunately the walk was on a beautiful day across a unique bridge. And I remembered my camera, for once.
