Delightful.
Saturday afternoon was sunny and about 55ºF outside. I wandered around our property and found this green patch of pachysandra juxtaposed against the blah browns of the forest primeval. Isn’t it a pretty reminder that Spring is on its way?

Invigorating.
Yes, a mere 40 hours ago I was walking down these limestone steps to get to the lower terraced level of our property. In fact, once down there I paused to enjoy the fresh air and sunshine.

Inspiring.
And then I spent a few minutes taking photos of what I saw: the blue sky above an evergreen tree surrounded by tall golden grasses, for instance.
• • •
Dangerous.
However, that was then and this is now. Today, Monday morning, there’s white stuff everywhere, even outside the front door. Can you find the step to the stoop, covered in 3″ of snow, that leads to our front door? Look closely now.

Annoying.
Oddly enough, it’s as if this last Saturday never happened. Sunshine and warmth? There was none that around here, you silly girl. You must have dreamed it all, says the Winter that’ll never end.

Agreed. I could have taken essentially the same series – except our’s ends with about 5 inches of the white stuff. On the plus side, it’s supposed to be about 40 tomorrow and 60 by Friday. I am so over the snow.

Zazzy, you and me both. I was resigned to it before I saw the Spring-like beauty this weekend. Now I’m beginning to resent the white stuff. Enough already.

They were predicting 10 inches for us overnight but it went south and we got a scant dusting. At exercise this morning, the ladies were all rejoicing as was I. We had a warm weekend once but I can’t remember when it was…..

kate, I bet that you were rejoicing. Lucky you. Our snow today will melt soon enough, but I think that it’s time for Winter to be over. It’s been charming, but now let’s move on. 😉

Here, here! You will get no argument from me!

Yes, I imagine not. With the ridiculous amount of snow that you’ve had in your part of the country, you should get the next 2 winters off from snowfall.

So sorry for all the snow you’ve been getting! And here I am complaining that it is supposed to drop to 48 today and rain. I too, am very ready for the warm weather to come and stay:) There’s just something different about the feeling of the day when the sun is shining and it is warm. I wish you warmth and sun very soon!

Beth, it’s 14ºF right now, so your 48ºF sounds balmy to me. I don’t which I’m tired of the most: being cold OR seeing snow everywhere! It’s a toss-up. Certainly Spring will be here soon, right?

After getting a taste of spring, it’s REALLY tough to look at winter again. We had a beautiful day Friday, then a lousy weekend. I was in LA for that, but it was crappy weather there too. (which means some rain and under 70) 🙂

Margaret, yes it is. Saturday was lovely, upbeat. But then Monday arrived and brought the white death with it. Who knows what’ll happen next around here.

I woke up to a temp of 3 this morning. Like everyone in NEO and other locales, I’m winter-weary. We have had snow cover for more than 45 days now. I don’t even watch the weather forecast anymore. The Great Lakes are all 95% ice-covered. Spring will be a long time in coming, and when it does, it will be slow.

Oh you poor dear! I know that NEO is much worse off than we are. I feel for you. Down here in SWO we’re hanging tough at 8ºF today with sunshine– which is wicked cold enough for me. Winter-weary explains it all for all of us.

I’m in the same boat as you. Saturday was beautiful and positively balmy – the high was 53. Sunday – snow all day. I just hope we actually get a spring and it doesn’t just jump right into summer. I think my sinuses would ‘splode.

Lisset, you and me both. My dislike of Winter does not mean that I’m ready for Summer. I have all sorts of allergies and I need to ease myself into them. That’s what Spring is for!

I hope it’s gotten better by now. It’s definitely spring in California.

J, the snow has melted now and it’s warm outside, but the sky still looks like winter… and there’s more snow predicted for later this week. Winter is overstaying its welcome this year. *sigh*

Crazy weather this year – whiplash. The gardeners are saying plant the tomatoes – but keep the frost blanket ready.
Love your steps!

philmouse, crazy is right. Yes, the steps are pretty no matter what kind of weather we’ve got going on here. Thanks for noticing.
