If there’s one lesson that life has taught me, don’t take yourself too seriously. For instance, when you grab your camera and go out into your front yard to take a photo of the cute flag thingie that hangs from the tree, and the wind keeps blowing the cute flag thingie the wrong way, you do not get upset.

Instead, you do your best to take a photo that captures the cute flag thingie in action. Giving it a whirl, so to speak. That is what you do.
• • •
And then if after about 40 pics of the cute flag thingie your photo shoot has not gone as planned, you find a way to turn your experience into a charming life lesson blog post.

THE SPECTACLED BEAN 
I’m twirling! If you change out flag thingie and insert cat, that would be my day yesterday. I tried to get photos of my cats. After 100 pictures of rear ends, ears, paws and distorted noses, I think I got 3 that I can use. The flip side is I can do a post about cat parts. I would have tons of pictures to illustrate that! Happy May! It’s been a long time coming!

Our breeze is already a hot, humid one. In the 80s here today. We totally skipped Spring.

Andra, some years we skip Spring here, too. But this year the season seems extra pretty, so I wanted to photograph it with my flag thingie as the focal point of the garden beauty. That didn’t work. Obviously.

Very nice!! Your beautiful twirling thing reminds me of my tulips; they kept blowing in the breeze when I was trying to photograph them–making me feel like an even worse photographer. It doesn’t take much!

Margaret, I’d forgotten about how tricky it can be to photograph a tulip in a Spring breeze. I used to try to do that, too. But now that the squirrels have eaten all of our tulip bulbs, there are no more tulips to see around here.
