The holidays are almost upon us. Things to do. Places to go. People to meet.
Because Z-D & I will be sort of busy and because I’m sort of tired of writing here, I’ve decided to put my blog on hold until after the beginning of next year. A short break from blogging sounds like a good idea to me right now.
But before I go, gentle readers, I’ll leave you with this charming video about– well… kindness, curiosity & joy. “Oskar, what did you do?”
WP has changed what I see on my screen after I post something here. They still tell me what number post I just published, but now they feel compelled to tell me what my next blogging goal should be. And they are including an inspirational quote.
Today’s quote: “I loved words. I love to sing them and speak them and even now, I must admit, I have fallen into the joy of writing them.”
— Anne Rice
I wonder if my post title [with the word JOY in it] generated this quote [with the word JOY in it]. Or if it is a coincidence. Something for me to ponder in my upcoming weeks of not writing, eh?

Love the video! That cat is like my 4 year old, but at least he didn’t try to climb the tree. Love the inspirational quote, too. I have WP so will look out for that next time I post (if it’s a global change and not just US). Will be interesting to know whether the quote is generated by the title of the piece or whether its just random and a bit of a coincidence. Happy holiday Ally. I’m so glad I found your blog this year, I love your thoughtful posts. Polly

Hi Polly, once I saw the video I couldn’t stop smiling about it. Sweetness + Ornery. Just my cuppa tea.
I’ll be interested in knowing what happens on your WP account. Today was the first time that a quote appeared out of nowhere. Kind of freaked me out when I realized how apropos it was to what I’d just written.
Likewise about the finding each other. Connecting like this is cool.
Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year to you, too.

Ally, just a quick note to say no inspirational quote for me when I posted on WP today. Must just be a US upgrade at the moment. I’m sure we’ll be getting it over here in the near future.

OMG WP is going to try to inspire me? Thanks for the warning, I was just about to start a post. Seems that it’s far easier to get out of the habit of writing than to write every day.
And, quite oddly, everyone I’ve read this morning so far is writing about writing.
I hope you have a wonderful holiday! Merry Christmas! Happy New Year! I’ll be back reading whenever you start writing again.

Zazzy, yes, it seems that WP is now my personal blog coach. Or at least for one day it was. We’ll see how it feels about me next year.
Have a happy and safe holiday season. Later, ‘gator.

Love the video and can see my dog, Little Sally Pumpkinhead, doing the same thing. I may have to rethink putting the tree up this year.
Happy Holidays from me to you and yours. Enjoy your time off. 🙂

la p, if your dog has as much pep as Oskar then no tree might be a good idea. Happy Holidays to you too!

As cute as that video is, I can’t help but think maybe they shouldn’t have left the tree on the floor… Happy Holidays!
