I Know What They Mean, But Don’t Ask Me To Spell ‘Em

Here’s a vocabulary test that I took. It told me that…

√ To me, this seems like a heck of a lot of words for one person to know. The information about the test said that: “Most native English adult speakers who have taken the test fall in the range 20,000–35,000 words.” So I’m well within the bounds of normal.

√ On this test there were words that I’ve never seen before. This made me happy. I enjoy the idea that even at my advanced age there are new words to learn. Once a geek, always a geek.

√ I was never a good speller and this test brought home that fact to me. I knew the words when I saw them but realized that without my spellchecker this blog would be filled with more ~~little~~ monosyllabic words than ~~big~~ polysyllabic words.

Yea Verily, A Personality Test Doth A Blog Post Make

Who are you?

I found another one of these online tests. This time, it’s all about your personality– based on those OCEAN variables that we all learned about way back in Psych 101.

Or maybe you learned it somewhere else along the way. I don’t know where you pick up your information, my gentle readers.

Whatever.

Getting to my point, below are my results from The Big Five Personality Test. I will admit that despite having a deep skepticism regarding any sort of online test, I tend to agree with these results.

In conclusion.

I think we can all agree that the above is indisputable proof that this blog is written by a relaxed, conscientious, agreeable introvert who is open to new experiences, but has nothing much to talk about today.

So instead of a pithy blog post, I’ve decided to give you, my gentle readers, something to do that only takes a few minutes, yet rewards your effort with personal insight. Not bad for a frozen Wednesday morning, eh?

[FYI – I prefer saying the incorrect title for this post better than the one I put on it. However, I’m too much of a grammar nerd to use the wrong title in print. If I did, what would Google think?!!]

Apparently A Bean Brain Is A Balanced One

I took The 30-Second Brain Test to determine which side of my brain I favored. The results showed that I use both sides of my brain [what the results described as] equally.

I’m 59%:

What I liked the best about this test was that after I received my results there was an option to learn why the test evaluated my answer to each question the way that it did. In other words, I learned something about how all people see the world in the process of understanding myself. Neat-o, I say.

While I hesitate to draw any overarching conclusions about who I am from this test, I’m willing to say that it was fun to take. And considering that my word of the year this year is BALANCE, I’m pleased with my results.
